Gulf Air has resumed flight operations to the Maldives.
While the airline is among the many that were forced to halt flights to the island nation following border closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it restarted flights on Sunday.
Two weekly flights are to travel to Maldives, and due to the demand for flights to Maldives, Gulf Air is sending its Boeing 787-9 aircraft to the island nation.
The flag carrier of Bahrain operated its first airline to the Maldives in October 2019.
While Middle East carriers Emirate, Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways and now Gulf Air have resumed flights to Maldives, Qatar Airways recently increased daily flight frequency to three flights daily.
