Air France, national carrier for France, has announced direct flights from Maldives to France starting from November this year.
Quoting Air France, Aviation Tribune reported that Air France will operate flights every Wednesday and Saturday from Charles de Gaulles Airport to Velana International Airport. The flights will be carried out in Boeing 200-777 which will carry 312 passengers.
Franck Terner, Air France CEO reported that the arrival of Air France in Malé strengthened the company’s presence on top-of-the-range leisure destinations.
Inbound tourists from Europe had increased by 7.3 percent last year, with France bringing in 40,487 tourists. With the introduction of direct flights between Maldives and France, tourism boosts are expected in this area.
