Maldives confirmed 35 new cases of the Covid-19 pandemic on Tuesday.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed that this was confirmed out of the 1,748 samples tested within 24 hours.

31 out of the new cases were confirmed from the greater Malé region, three from residential islands and one from an operational resort.

This pushes the Covid-19 tally in the island nation to 13,248.

In addition, with the 50 additional recoveries reported on Tuesday, the total number of recoveries confirmed in the Maldives has reached 12,487.

There are 707 active coronavirus cases in Maldives, with 69 patients currently hospitalized for treatment.

Due to complications, 47 virus-stricken patients have died from the virus thus far.
