Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has reached 69 percent progression in the road construction project in Fonadhoo island in Laamu atoll.

Highlighting that the project is well underway, MTCC took to Twitter on Wednesday, revealing that they are currently working on the ABC layering component of the project.

The machinery required for the carriageway under the project have also been delivered to the project site, revealed the contractor.

Under the project, MTCC is tasked with tarring an area stretching up to 27,848 square meters, establishing a water drainage system, installing speed breakers as well as planting street signs along the roads measuring 13,702 meters.

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC for a total of MVR 25.5 million.

MTCC mobilized the project on June 26, 2019.
