Maldives Media Council elections to be held on Saturday

From a meeting of the Maldives Media Council

The Maldives Media Council (MMC) will be holding internal elections this Saturday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said that the elections are being held as the tenures of the incumbent officials at MMC will expire on December 11.

The Maldives Media Council elections will be held from 11am to 12pm on Saturday.

MMC comprises of 15 members; eight from the media and five representing the public.

A total of 28 candidates have applied, 14 each from the media and the public.
