A total of 32 staff working in the cargo department of Velana International Airport (VIA) have tested positive for covid-19.

Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) says that additional 10 staff from the department tested positive for the virus on Monday.

The first positive case from the cargo department of VIA was seen on November 5, 12 more staff tested positive from the same cluster, after which more staff from the same department tested positive for covid-19 according to HEOC.

Covid-19 situation in the Maldives was getting better when, after a period of two months, the daily case count rose to above 100 on Monday. With the additional 110 cases, the total number of covid-19 cases in rose to 12,314. The number of active cases is now at 947.
