Hulhumalé Billiard House has officially been opened.
Vice President Faisal Naseem inaugurated the pool billiard house located in the Sports Complex of the capital city’s suburban extension Hulhumalé on Wednesday night.
The event to inaugurate the facility was attended by Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof, High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, Sunjay Sudhir, members of the Billiard Association’s executive committee and National Billiard Team players.
During the event, VP Naseem noted that the incumbent government has prioritized the nurturing of a generation that is capable youth.
He also noted that the country must remember the value of increasing the youth community employed in managerial roles, as the country celebrates the Republic Day.
The vice president noted that the government had invested considerable time and resources to develop youth in the two years since President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has remained in office.
Extending his gratitude to the tireless staff of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment for their pivotal role in promoting sports and developing youth in the country the vice president also urged the youth community to assert themselves towards achieving their potential to become capable, hard-working and diligent citizens.
Also during the event, VP Naseem made the opening break on a billiard’s game and participated in a friendly match with Aminath Fathy, one of the top-ranked female billiards players in the Maldives.
