National Chess Arcade opened in Hulhumalé
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Mini Sports Complex in Hulhumalé
President Solih had kicked off the sport with its first chess game
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated the National Chess Arcade.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Mini Sports Complex in capital city Malé’s suburban extension Hulhumalé on Wednesday evening.
While Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof joined in the inauguration ceremony, President Solih had kicked off the sport with its first chess game.
The Ministry designated the National Chess Arcade hall to the Maldives Chess Association in order to provide an arena for Maldivian chess enthusiasts, said the President’s office.
The association had expressed gratitude on behalf of their players, who in their words will benefit immensely from the newly established hall.
