Bank of Maldives (BML) has donated MVR 150,000 to the Cancer Society of Maldives.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday, the country’s national bank revealed that the donation aims to increase breast cancer awareness through the local NGO, established with the dedicated to spread awareness regarding cancer and supporting cancer patients.
Expressing gratitude to all participants who joined the annual Pink Ribbon Run, BML noted that the donation was made as part of the bank’s efforts to support the event, which is organized by the Cancer Society, annually.
The donation was handed over by BMl’s MD and CEO, Tim Sawyer who met a team from Cancer Society alongside cancer patients and survivors. This was done after the donation was handed over.
During the meeting, cancer survivors and patients shared their inspirational stories of courage, hope and strength in their battle against cancer.
Due to the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s Pink Ribbon Run was held virtually.
