MIRA rakes in MVR 1.3 billion in March
 
3.3 percent lower than expected earnings

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed that the Authority had earned MVR 1.3 billion in March.

Statistics published on Thursday, show that GST, Airport Service Charge, Remittance tax and earnings from tourism leases were the biggest earners for the nation. The earnings for March had increased by 19 percent.

However, this was 3.3 percent lower than the forecast levels.

Both BPT and Airport Service Charge earned MVR 73.3 million each, while MVR 10.4 million was earned as remittance tax and MVR 65.6 million was earned from tourism leases.

MIRA also earned US$ 62.3 million in March.
