A local has been found dead at sea.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that a they received reports of the dead body drifting in the ocean near Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), at around 10:40am on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as a Maldivian man, aged 31.

The body has since been taken to IGMH, revealed Police.

While no further details including the cause of his death and his identity have been disclosed, the case is under further investigations.
