Another local has succumbed to the Covid-19 pandemic in Maldives.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) took to Twitter on Sunday evening, revealing that deceased is a 56-year-old Maldivian woman who was seeking treatment at the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital.
She passed away at around 2:20pm on Sunday.
This is the 35th death to the virus, in the island nation.
By Saturday, a total of 10,859 cases of the global pandemic have been confirmed, since the first few cases surfaced on March 7. The pandemic has taken another life in the island nation nearly three weeks since the last death was reported, on September 21. 9,683 virus-stricken patients have recovered from the infection and there are currently 1,135 active cases, out of which two patients are receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.
