One out of the two patients in intensive care due to Covid-19 complications, is on ventilation.

The Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC)’s spokesperson, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq revealed this during Wednesday night’s Covid-19 press briefing.

Both patients are admitted at the 11th floor of Dharumavantha Hospital designated for Covid-19 treatment. While the 16th floor of the hospital is also used for Covid-19 patients, there is another patient admitted at the ward there.

66 patients are admitted at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility (HMF) ward.

In regards to the regional Covid-19 facilities, Dr. Nazla said that there are six patients admitted at the Gaafu Alifu facility.

There are a total of 75 patients receiving treatment at hospitals or facilities currently, five less than the previous day.

While patients requiring treatment at hospitals have reduced since late August, health officials had previously expressed concern following an increase in bed occupancy rate to 62 percent.
