The new children’s park in Kihaadhoo island of Baa atoll was opened on Friday.

The park was developed by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, together with the Kihaadhoo island council.

The council’s Vice President, Mohamed Shareef told RaajjeMV that the project was initiated three years ago and that it was completed with the cooperation of the youth ministry.

Expressing gratitude for the support from the government, Shareef said that he hopes that this will only improve in the future.

He also noted that they also received assistance from various resorts in the region, as well as the Bank of Maldives (BML).

Further expressing satisfaction on the park’s location, the council official said that both children and adults will be able to enjoy the new park.

He also thanked the island’s residents for the help in completing the project.

Youth ministry continues to conduct such development projects in various island across the country.
