Two individuals have been arrested from Bodufolhudhoo island in Alif Alif atoll under accusations of sexually assaulting a woman with special needs.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of the two Maldivian men having taken the woman with special needs to the boat yard region of the island and sexually assaulting her on September 9. The accused is to have filmed the incident.
Arrested in connection to the case under a court order are two Maldivian men, aged 28 and 23 respectively.
Further investigations are currently underway, revealed police.
