JSC seeks to appoint magistrates to eight courts
Only those aged 25 years and older are eligible to apply
The deadline is set at 1pm, September 21
Magistrates will receive up to MVR 23,450 as salaries including allowances whereas chief magistrates earn up to MVR 25,600 per month

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has opened applications for magistrates at eight courts.

In a publication on Monday, the commission noted that they are seeking to appoint magistrates to five courts and chief magistrates to three courts.

JSC is looking to appoint magistrates to the courts in:

  • Kulhudhuffushi City in Haa Dhaal atoll,
  • Funadhoo island in Shaviyani atoll,
  • Manadhoo island in Noonu atoll,
  • Felidhoo island in Vaavu atoll,
  • Thinadhoo island in Gaaf Dhaal atoll.

The commission is also seeking chief magistrates for courts in:

  • Maduvvari island in Raa atoll,
  • Feeali island in Faafu atoll,
  • Kolamaafushi island in Gaaf Alif atoll.

Magistrates will receive up to MVR 23,450 as salaries including allowances whereas chief magistrates earn up to MVR 25,600 per month.

Further, they will also be entitled to medical insurance under the judges act as passed by the People’s Majlis.

Only those aged 25 years and older are eligible to apply for the positions, before the deadline set at 1pm, September 21.
