Police have recovered over 300,000 reported stolen from a house in Kalaidhoo island of Laamu atoll.
While the case was reported on Sunday, a special operation was conducted on the island, jointly by the Isdhoo and Gan police stations as well the police’s intelligence unit, to recover the cash.
Police said that they found the MVR 352,500 buried on the island, but did not specify where.
Two suspects have been arrested; a 29-year-old and a 38-year-old.
Police continue to further investigate the theft.
