Maldives Covid-19 cases rise to 6,370
145 new cases reported on Thursday
There are currently 2,431 active cases
The island nation has seen 24 deaths from Covid-19, mostly locals

Maldives Covid-19 case count has reached 6,370 with the 145 new cases reported on Thursday.

While this is from the 933 samples tested within 24 hours, 142 of the cases were detected in the greater Male’ region while three are from outlying islands.

The new cases include 123 locals, 11 Bangladeshis, five Sri Lankan nationals, three Indians as well as one each from Nepal, Japan and Jordan.

While this pushes the country’s Covid-19 total to 6,370, there are currently 2,431 active cases.

161 of the patients are admitted at hospitals, nine more than the previous day, while 1,355 have been moved to isolation facilities.

With the 127 additional recoveries reported on Thursday, 3,915 patients have recovered from the infection.

The island nation has seen 24 deaths from Covid-19; 18 Maldivians and six foreigners.
