The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has successfully completed the harbor extension project in Felidhoo island of Vaavu atoll.
The company took to Twitter revealed the project progress, and added that the design and build of the project was completed on July 30.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC was tasked with the construction of a quay wall measuring 126 meters, a breakwater measuring 61 meters, building a 200-meter revetment as well as a pavement measuring 610 square meters.
The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure initially contracted MTCC with the development project on September 5 last year.
Signed by Director General of Planning Ministry Fathimath Shana Farooq and CEO of MTCC Hassan Shah, the agreement stated that MTCC is expected to complete the project within 210 days.
The project is valued at MVR 5.18 million and was mobilized on February 2 after receiving the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) approval on December 30, 2019.
