40-yo man caught attempting to enter Maldives with fake passport

Maldives Immigration has caught an individual attempting to enter the country with counterfeit passport.

Immigration revealed that the individual is a 40-year-old male, but did not disclose any further details including his nationality.

Individuals caught in such acts are deported to their countries, in accordance with the country’s international conventions.

While the man was stopped at Velana International Airport with a counterfeit passport, there were a number of such cases the previous year.

As such, at least 167 individuals were deported after attempting to enter the island nation with fake passports, last year.
