Covid-19 management facilities have been established in five regions.

Three of the facilities were inaugurated on Saturday night, through a virtual ceremony. Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid was the guest of honour at the ceremony.

The facilities inaugurated on Saturday are in Addu City and Ihavandhoo island in Haa Alif atoll.

With this, a total of five Covid-19 management facilities have been established across the island nation. Covid-19 management facilities were opened in Gan in Laamu atoll and Villingilli in Gaafu Alifu atoll on July 16, while the ones in Eydhafushi island in Baa atoll and Fonadhoo in Shaviyani were inaugurated on July 21.

The facility in Gan island is for Meemu, Faafu, Dhaalu, Thaa and Laamu atolls, while the one in Villingilli is specifically for the Gaafu Alif and Gaaf Dhaal atolls.

The facility in Eydhafushi is for Noonu, Raa, Baa and Lhaviyani atolls while Shaviyani Funadhoo facility is for Haa Alif, Haa Dhaal and Shaviyani zone.

All facilities comprise of 20 beds and 30 ICU beds. Covid-19 testing will also be available at the facilities, as well as ventilators.
