Authorities to conduct a mass public health inspection, next week
 
This is to ensure the safety of the people
 
HEOC said that the purpose of the inspection is to ensure that service providers are following all Covid-19 safety guidelines
 
The inspection will be carried out on July 12

A mass public health inspection is to be held in the greater Malé region, next week.

The Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) announced this at a press conference on Wednesday, adding that the inspection will be carried out on July 12.

HEOC said that the purpose of the inspection is to ensure that service providers are following all Covid-19 safety guidelines. Health Protection Agency (HPA)’s Director, Ahmed Naseer, stated that this is to ensure the safety of the people, and added that there are plans to conduct similar inspections in outlying islands.

As such, restaurants, cafés, shops, salons, gyms and the market area will be inspected.

The work is to be carried out together with the Health Protection Agency (HPA), Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), Malé City council, Ministry of Economic Development, Maldives Police Service, Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC), Housing Development Corporation and Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO).

Measures are to be taken against businesses found to be violating the safety guidelines.
