27th World Travel Awards: Maldives nominated for 10 prestigious awards

Maldives has been nominated in 10 prestigious award categories at the 27th World Travel Awards.
Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. The awards are recognized globally as the ultimate hallmarks of industry excellence.
The 10 categories in which Maldives has been nominated are;
Maldives has won multiple awards in various categories over the years.
As such, in 2019, the country won the prestigious Indian Ocean’s Leading Dive Destination, Indian Ocean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination, Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination and World’s Leading Beach Destination at the Annual World Travel Awards 2019.
Maldives has also won the famed Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination award 12 times in the past 16 years.
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) noted the prestigious nominations “will aid in strengthening the image of the country” as it reopens borders on July 15.
The World Travel Awards 2020 will take place at Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya on October 3.
