Maldives has reported 21 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, as well as 16 additional recoveries.

According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the new cases include 12 locals and nine foreigners; seven Bangladeshis, and one individual each from Indian and Nepal.

This pushes the country’s Covid-19 case count to 2,238. Most of the Covid-19 cases in the island nation are Bangladeshi nationals. As such, a total of 1,162 Bangladeshis have tested positive for the virus which is 51.9 percent while local infections are at 32.1 percent (787 cases). 210 Indian nationals (9.38 percent) tested positive, as well as 43 Nepalese (1.92 percent).

While 16 additional recoveries were reported on Tuesday, the country has recorded 1,829 recoveries.

There are currently 396 active cases in the country, with eight Covid-19 related deaths confirmed thus far.
