The new case is a 65-year-old Maldivian woman and the Health Protection Agency revealed that the woman was taken into transit quarantine from capital Malé City.
The 65-year-old shared a quarantine room with her granddaughter, who has reportedly tested negative for the virus.
The patient is currently in stable condition.
On Thursday authorities reported 14 new cases which pushed the total case count to 1,976.
Further, the country has seen 1,153 recoveries thus far.
