200 Indian nationals have been repatriated from the Maldives on Wednesday.
Maldivian, the country’s national airline carried out the repatriation exercise in groups, having repatriated 118 Indian nationals to Trivandrum on Wednesday morning.
Another flight departed to Chennai from Velana International Airport later on, carrying 82 Indian nationals.
The repatriation is being carried out in cooperation with the High Commission of India in the Maldives, said Maldivian.
Through a major operation to evacuate Indians stranded in different regions across the globe, the Indian government has also been repatriating Indians stranded in the Maldives, and the number has since surpassed 2,000 with the fourth voyage evacuating over 700 Indian nationals last Friday.
