Authorities conduct random sampling in the capital
242 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the Maldives.
While the recoveries were at 232 on Tuesday, the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) announced an additional 10 recoveries at Wednesday night’s press briefing.
It has been revealed that most of the recoveries recorded in the country are locals. 13 of the recoveries are the cases reported prior to the detection of a community transmission, foreigners from resorts.
Authorities have said that recovery rate is slower than anticipated, and that it is taking an average of 17 days.
A total of 1,457 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the Maldives. There have been five fatalities.
