Maldives confirms 19 new Covid-19 cases
This pushes the total to 1,457
The new cases include Maldivians, Bangladeshis, Indians and Nepal nationals

Maldives has confirmed 19 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) on Wednesday afternoon.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed that the new cases include four Maldivians, 13 Bangladeshi nationals, one Indian and one Nepali national.

This pushes the country's Covid-19 case count to 1,457.

According to the authority’s statistics, samples for the new cases were collected on Tuesday.

Currently, there are 1,253 active cases in the country and Maldives has so far recorded 232 recoveries from the infection.

The country’s death count sits at five, with the latest death being reported on Tuesday.
