There are currently 12 Covid-19 patients hospitalized, with three still on ventilators.

Dr. Ibrahim Afzal revealed this at Saturday night’s press briefing at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC).

Two are admitted at the eleventh floor (DH11) in Dharumavantha Hospital while the remaining are at Tree Top Hospital.

Three of the patients are on ventilators; one at DH11 and two at Dharumavantha. While two were previously on ventilation at DH11, one of the patients passed away on Wednesday – this was the fourth Covid-19 death recorded in the Maldives.

The two on ventilators at Tree Top Hospital are foreigners, both men; a 54-year-old and 29-year-old.

The 11th floor at Dharumavantha can provide treatment for 10 patients at full capacity, while Tree Top Hospital can treat up to 180.
