Nine new Covid-19 cases emerge from Manadhoo

Maldives has confirmed nine additional cases of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, from Manadhoo island in Noonu atoll.

The island council’s President, Mohamed Umar confirmed the matter to RaajjeMV, stating that nine out of the 34 samples collected from the island have tested positive for Covid-19.

These individuals were identified as contacts of the first patient discovered from the island.

Authorities are working to transfer the patients into a quarantine facility.

On May 1, the third sample collected from the 80-year-old woman from the island, came back positive.
