An additional Covid-19 patient has been placed on ventilator.

This was revealed at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)’s Covid-19 press conference on Sunday night.

Noting that nine patients are admitted at Tree Top Hospital – six Maldivians and three foreigners – Dr. Ibrahim Afzal stated that “one of the foreigners has been placed on ventilator”.

While Tree Top Hospital was activated as a Covid-19 treatment center recently, and hospital officials said that they will be operating in three stages and that 45 patients can be treated at once.

The doctor said that three other patients are admitted at DH11 at Dharumavantha Hospital, two men and one woman; the two men are on ventilators.

Authorities had previously revealed that 88-year-old and 70-year-old have been placed on ventilators following complications.

While a total of 835 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the Maldives, 30 people have recovered and there have been three fatalities.
