The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) has revealed that there are eight locations currently being used as isolation facilities in the Maldives.
This was revealed during Tuesday night’s press briefing where the Covid-19 task force’s spokesperson, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz detailed these locations, as such, they are:
- Velidhu isolation facility
- Farukolhufushi isolation facility
- Hulhulé isolation facility
- Dhonikulhi isolation facility
- Bandos isolation facility
- Hulhumalé Phase Two isolation facility
- Hiyaa isolation facility and
- Dharumavantha Hospital.
Positive cases that emerge from the north are taken into Dhonikulhi island for isolation and patients at Farukolhufushi were transferred to Bandos due to technical issues such as water leaks at Farukolhufushi isolation facility.
Hulhumalé Phase Two isolation facility accommodates the Bangladeshi nationals who test positive for Covid-19.
Patients who require close monitoring are taken into Dharumavantha Hospital and there are six under close monitoring at the hospital currently.
A total of 573 confirmed cases have emerged in the Maldives up until Wednesday morning.
