Authorities are working to see if any Maldivians were affected in the fire that broke out at residential tower in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.

Maldives’ Embassy in the United Arab Emirates revealed this via Twitter.

A massive fire was reported at the 40-floor Abbco Tower in Al Nahda in Sharjah on Tuesday night.

While fire engines are ambulances are to have rushed to the scene immediately, the fire is to have been put out in under three hours.

According to international news outlets, no casualties were reported as the whole building was evacuated before the fire spread. Five other building nearby were also evacuated during the work to control the blaze.
