A contact of a confirmed Covid-19 case, has passed away.
Covid-19 taskforce’s spokesperson, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz revealed this at the daily press conference held at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) on Wednesday night.
He said that an 83-year-old contact of a confirmed patient passed away on Wednesday, adding that they are still awaiting on the test results.
Mabrook that the individual has been receiving treatment for other health issues prior to being identified as a contact.
The spokesperson also highlighted two other death cases that were brought to their attention; both from Thinadhoo island of Gaafu Dhaalu atoll.
Both are elderly; a 95-year-old and 78-year-old. Mabrook said that both had a history of Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI).
While samples were taken from both to test for Covid-19, their results are pending as well.
Mabrook said that details of all three cases will be shared "tomorrow".
