The Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has revealed that their hotline numbers will be available for service despite the lockdown declared by the government.

This was revealed by the ministry’s Director, Nisha Ali during a phone interview with RaajjeTV. As such, she noted that the number of cases filed at the ministry has significantly decreased recently.

However, she stressed that it cannot be believed that individuals are not silently suffering from domestic violence and other forms of abuse, despite the drop in cases being reported.

Nisha urged individuals to reach out to 1412 for cases connected to child abuse, which may also be submitted via e-mail.

The ministry is investigating all of the cases submitted, individually and is monitoring those linked to respective cases, closely.

Further, a team of officials has also been formed to conduct household visitations, if required.
