State-run Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has set out a clinical guideline to follow in providing services for expecting mothers.
Speaking during Friday night’s press conference, Senior Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Head of Department, Dr. Mohamed Aseel Jaleel revealed that they have prepared a clinical guideline that details a special protocol to be followed when treating pregnant women.
As such, this includes a set of disciplines to be followed in their treatment.
This guideline was formed after discussions with pulmonologists, scan doctors, internal physicians, the laboratory experts as well as nurses and midwives.
The hospital has also collected all the required details such as names, current addresses of expecting mothers who are due by July.
IGMH has also revealed that records will be maintained for pregnant women who acquire emergency treatment at the hospital.
In addition, these instructions have also been shared with gynecologists in outlying atolls through video conferencing, said IGMH.
