Three new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in capital, Malé City.

This raises the total number of cases from the city to 12, and the country’s total to 32.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that patient 30 is direct contact of Patient 27; the latter tested positive after presenting to the flu clinic with symptoms on Friday. Another contact of theirs had tested positive earlier.

Patient 28 was also tested after showing to flu clinic on Friday, however, both cases have no connection and are two separate clusters. Patient 31 is a direct contact of theirs.

Furthermore, a direct contact of Patient 30, a Bangladeshi, has also tested positive from the city. This is Patient 32.

All three are being transferred to isolation facilities.

The capital was placed on lockdown following the discovery of Covid-19 cases within the city.
