Two individuals have been arrested for barging into a meeting of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) task force, looking for a fight and consecutively disrupting law enforcement officers.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) received the report of two men barging into a meeting that was being held at the school in Feevah island of Shaviyani atoll on Monday night.

When officers arrived at the scene, the two individuals had even attempted to disrupt law enforcement and create disorder.

As such, a 25-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, both Maldivians, were taken into police custody under a court order.

Upon being presented to Milandhoo Magistrate Court, the 25-year-old was remanded by seven days and the 28-year-old was remanded by five days, said police.

The case is under further investigation.
