Two more Maldivians nationals who tested positive to the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic have recovered.

The reveal was made via the Health Protection Agency (HPA) on Twitter, on Tuesday night.

HPA revealed that the two Maldivian patients were isolated at Velidhu Isolation facility at the time.

With this development, a total of three Maldivian patients have recovered since testing positive to the disease after returning from abroad. It is believed that these two patients are the Maldivians who tested positive while quarantined after returning from the United Kingdom.

The first Maldivian that tested positive for Covid-19 recovered on Sunday and he returned to the Maldives on 22 March, a day after authorities made the decision to quarantine all returnees from abroad.

A total of five Maldivians tested positive to the disease in the country, four after returning from the UK and one after returning from Philippines.

The fifth Maldivian patient was announced on Sunday and is a student that was evacuated from the Philippines on 28 March.

As of Tuesday, there have been 20 positive cases in the island nation and with the recent recoveries of the Maldivian patients, a total of 16 patients have recovered after testing double negative to the disease. The first 13 are all foreigners, nine Italians, and one each from United Kingdom, Turkey, Germany and South Africa.
