Police raid

A man has been apprehended in possession of drugs and remanded for 15 days.

According to police, a 37-year-old Maldivian man was arrested in possession of drugs during a joint operation by police intelligence and Shaviyani atoll Milandhoo island police station. He was apprehended following a tip-off to police intelligence.

The suspects home was searched under a court order and 20 paper packets containing substances presumed to be drugs was discovered. He was remanded for 15 days by Milandhoo island's magistrate court and will be detained at a facility designated by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The case is undergoing further investigation.
