Authorities have arrested a man for violating travel restrictions placed on safaris.
According to police, a 32-year old Maldivian man working on a safari anchored near Hulhumale' was arrested on March 21st for violating orders of the Director-General of Public Health and giving false information to police.
He had disembarked from the safari on Hulhumale' at 06:15 despite the ban on travel between safaris and inhabited islands, said authorities.
He has been remanded for a period of five days.
The case is undergoing further investigation by authorities.
