A small fishing vessel that went missing with five Maldivians onboard on Wednesday, has been located.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that they were able to communicate with “Almas” at around 9am on Thursday.
Noting that the vessel’s captain had told them that had stopped near Rakeedhoo island in Vaavu atoll for fishing, MNDF said that they are headed to the capital.
MNDF further said that all five people onboard “are well”.
The dhoni was reported missing at around 3:20pm on Wednesday.
