Covid-19: all Maldivians returning from US to be quarantined
 
The public has been urged to obey instructions

Maldivians who arrive from all countries exempt from the temporary travel restrictions imposed by the government of Maldives are to be placed under home-isolation

The government of Maldives is to quarantine all Maldivians who return from the United States of America, at designated facilities.

All Maldivians who return from the US are subject to the 14-day quarantine, revealed the Health Protection Agency.

In compliance with the state of public health emergency declared across the entire Maldives under the Public Health Act, the Director General of Public Health, Maimoona Aboobakuru released the order on Wednesday as a precautionary measure against the fast-spreading Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).

A statement released by the HPA on Wednesday reads that the measure is to take effect from 19 March onwards until further notice.

Further, HPA has also said that all Maldivians who arrive from all countries exempt from the temporary travel restrictions imposed by the government of Maldives, will be placed under home-quarantine for a 14-day period as well.

All state institutions and relevant stakeholders are to follow through with the order, and the public has been urged to adhere to the instructions and regulations that is expected to follow with this announcement, and obey the orders imposed by the government.
