Abu Dhabi Fund donates MVR 771 million as grant aid to the Maldives
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of Maldives and the ADFD during a special ceremony held on Monday.
The MoU was signed by the Maldives' Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid and Director General of the ADFD, Mohammed Saif Al-Suwaidi.
This grant aid by the ADFD will be the largest aid assistance donated to the Maldives, said the ministry.

Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) is set to donate MVR 771 million (USD 50 million) as grant aid to the Maldives.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of Maldives and the ADFD during a special ceremony held on Monday. The MoU was signed by the Maldives' Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid and Director General of the ADFD, Mohammed Saif Al-Suwaidi.

According to the foreign ministry, the MoU signals the ADFD’s commitment to provide support for the development goals of the Maldives. Further, the ministry notes that the ADFD has funded several key infrastructure projects in Maldives since the 1970's.

This grant aid by the ADFD will be the largest aid assistance donated to the Maldives, said the ministry.
