Orca Media Group has opened registration for the sixth edition of the Local Island Tourism Magazine.
The Local Island Tourism Magazine is the only local publication that only features registered guesthouses in the local island tourism in the country and mainly revolves around its promotion.
The magazine was earlier published as the Guesthouse Maldives Magazine and has been publishing since 2015.
Local guesthouses that have been registered have the opportunity to get featured in the publication for free and it caters to the aim of promoting guesthouses and local island tourism products as an information guide to zealous travelers.
5,000 copies are printed and distributed to interest parties across Maldives including guesthouses as well as resorts as part of the magazine’s concept.
Copies will also be distributed to major local as well as international tourism fairs.
The magazine has also had the honor of being used as the official print to promote local island tourism in the travel and trade fairs hosted by the state-run Maldives Marketing and Public relations Corporation (MMPRC). It is also recognized by the Ministry of Tourism.
There are over 600 registered guesthouses in the Maldives currently and introducing as well as extensively promoting local island tourism in the entire archipelago nation is included in the current government’s pledges to the people.
