Sports associations are fully prepared for elections: Heena
Heena stated that his office will give full support to whoever succeeds the elections

Commissioner of Sports Heena Ahmed Saleem has stated that all of the sports associations have prepared for their respective elections in advance.
Highlighting that the elections will be democratic and free of outside influence, Heena stated that his office will give full support to whoever succeeds the position.
Heena also gave his assurance to all sports associations of his commitment to work without discrimination and as mandated in the Sports Act.
In response to allegations claiming that changes have been to prevent certain clubs from voting in the elections, Heena stated that no stated that these claims are false. He explained that such changes can only be brought at an annual meeting attended by all the clubs of that respective association.
As such, while the Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM) has been operating without an executive board for the past eight months, Heena stated that the committee will act according to instructions of the FIVB.
The VAM situation is being monitored closely, said Heena, adding that the commission has no personal bias against or towards any member of the VAM.
