MACL's new board has declared that the previous agreement is valid

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has assured that they will work to find a solution in order to continue providing their full services to the customers, after deliberating with the state.

This comes at a time the People’s Majlis public accounts’ committee passed to lease the new seaplane terminal for a period of two years, as recommended by the state.

TMA issued a statement on Sunday, revealing that the discussions to lease the terminal were held between an authorized delegate from Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and TMA officials, in “good faith” and under the set procedure for it.

The statement goes on to read that TMA believes the agreements reached after negotiations with MACL are significant for the company’s expanding operations and services.

In this regard, the company is in deliberations with the state to resolve hindrances they face in continuing their services effectively, said TMA.

Highlighting that the letters addressed to MACL were signed by the company’s General Manager, the statement reads that the company had been given assurance over several occasions that the topics covered via the letters are approved by MACL’s board and Managing Director.

Further, TMA revealed that the new board compiled by the new government of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is also keen to proceed with the commitments made by the previous board. After reviewing the decisions by MACL, the new board also expressed support and assurance that the decisions will be followed through.
