Mayor of capital city Malé, Shifa Mohamed has stated that making efforts against corruption can be perilous.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Shifa stated that work against corruption can be perilous and went onto highlight the hazardous condition of the city's public toilets.
Additionally, she states that it may have been better to feign ignorance when her efforts to transform the local market according to the suppliers' needs had been impeded.
While RaajjeMV was unable to get a comment from Shifa regarding the matter, she has previously admitted to conflict between Male' City Council members regarding the number of stalls at the local market.
Shifa has also claimed to have faced many challenges within the council as her position
Although many members of the council have accused the mayor of corruption, Shifa has denied these allegations.
As such, Shifa failed to secure the Maldivian Democratic Party's (MDP) ticket to vie for re-election as Male City's mayor.
