A world-renowned Thai photographer, David Lau has hosted a photo exhibition titled “Maldives-the sunny side of life” in Bangkok, Thailand.

The celebrated photographer visited the Maldives to capture the beauty and timeless culture of the archipelago nation during September 2019. During his five-day trip, Lau visited three different islands including Kuramathi Island Resort in Ari Atoll, Season Paradise in Thulusdhoo island of Kaafu atoll and luxury resort, Jumeirah Vittaveli.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Ambassadors from Kenya, Nepal, South Africa, Spain and the Maldives at Siam Paragon, a popular and one of the largest shopping malls in Bangkok, on 17 February.

During the exhibition which ended on Wednesday, photos captured through David’s camera lens in collaboration with Maldivian photographer Shafraz Naeem featured the spectacular marine encompassing coral gardens and exotic fish species.

The event was hosted at the Lifestyle hall on the second floor of Siam Paragon, located in the heart of Bangkok.

Lau’s trip to the Maldives came as part of tourism promotion body Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC)’s initiative of a series of familiarization trips to promote the destination for zealous travelers worldwide.

The initiative kicked off with a team of Indian journalists during April, followed by a team of South African journalists during February.

This week, two teams of Spanish and French journalists arrived in the Maldives as part of the tourism promotion body’s efforts to promote the country’s tourism.
