Councilors from Himmafushi Island, Kaafu Atoll, have briefed the Vice President, Faisal Naseem on the development plans they have for the benefit of their constituents.
During a meeting held at the President’s Office on Thursday afternoon, discussions revolved around issues facing the island community as well as their urgent needs.
As such, councilors stated that the island residents are facing challenges due to the delay in the establishment of sanitation services in the island.
Further, council members shared their visions of expanding the island’s health care services and plans to expand the plot of land where the island’s school is located.
Urging the councilors to initiate new project to reinforce the social wellness of their constituents, VP Naseem highlighted that the government is currently working to solve the issues in providing sanitation services on the island.
Further, he went on to assure the councilors that the government will take necessary action after discussions with relevant authorities in order to tackle the issues at hand.
